Mid May Update!
My last final is today. I need to nail this and graduate on Saturday. I threw up one of my old mixes I made and never released. The Rain Mix. Download it.
Im going to be opening at the Knitting Factory on May 21st for Pressha from Seattle. Im thinking a half and half set of Dubstep & Drum-n-Bass.
Then come June 7th, I will be opening for AK1200. For those that dont know, I stumbled upon Drum & Bass back in 2000 and AK1200′s remix of Drowning got me excited about this genre. I then started to tune into BassDrive.com and streamrip mixes. I then went out and bought his mixes Fully Automatic and Mixed Live and started my love for this music. If it wasnt for his remix, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today, or come into it a lot later than I did.
Mid April Update, Dub-auchery & Liquid Mix
Loads of things happening. I’m about to graduate college (major in Information Technology Management with an emphasis in Networking), so I am focusing a lot of my time to wrapping that up. My car is on jackstands while I do a suspension overhaul and bushings. I just picked up a MacBook Pro before the April 1st show. My old laptop wasn’t holding a charge and it was glitching on Traktor after the latest update. I was afraid of it crapping out in the middle of my set, so I wanted to get a new laptop. Always kinda wanted a Mac, but never took the plunge. So far I really like it, but the nerdy/techy side of me is disappointed. Not to mention hit my pocket pretty hard.
The Dub-auchery show was awesome! Thanks for everyone who came out. I was kinda put in a crappy situation though. The times were never really finalized, and I had to start at 8:30pm and cut 15 minutes from my set. Not too many people made it in the door in time and I couldnt get the word out of my time change soon enough. I even dropped Bass Cannon and there was only a few kids dancing too it. Kinda shocked on that one. Hung out with Roommate of Babylon system grabbed some grub at Pollo Rey. We discussed production, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Dubstep vs Brostep (both of us concluded that Brostep is great for the club, but Dubstep has the longer lasting power and is better for home), and our love of Asian chicks. Really cool down to Earth dude!
